Healthcare-Related Scholarships Available
Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta and Mercy Auxiliary Mt. Shasta are offering scholarships to graduating high school seniors and on-going college students who are enrolling in healthcare-related courses of study at accredited colleges and universities. Two (2) $1,000 scholarships are available from Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta and three (3) $1,500 scholarships are available from Mercy Auxiliary Mt. Shasta. Completed applications are due by Friday, March 28, 2008, no later than 3 PM, in Mercy Mt. Shasta’s administration office. Applications may be mailed or hand-carried, but may not be submitted electronically.
Criteria for selection includes: Healthcare focused major, involvement in community and educational institutional activities, scholastic ability (GPA 3.0 or higher), enrollment in an accredited college/university for 2008 fall semester, Siskiyou County resident, and biography. Merit is the primary basis for award. Financial need is a consideration but is not a basis for award by the selection committee. Accompanying letters of recommendation are required, as indicated on the application form. Scholarships monies will be sent in the name of the awardee to the accredited college/university in which the student is enrolled.
